Can anyone please provide the reasoning for the solution of 14/23/22a?

The answer is- A Rose Red City Half As Old As Time.

The clue - 4 got up -try 15a, possibly- with lucerne (mostly) put on the herb stall, say?
4 is Petra

got up - arose
Anagaram of chide and try - red city h
lucerne is also called alfalfa, part of that - alfa
sold as time (sounds like sold as thyme)
Put together to get "A Rose Red City Half As Old As Time"
Bit complicated, even for araucaria!

Yes I knew that but I was trying to work out the rest of the clue. Where does Chide fit in , for instance?
