Many questions but -
29A - Fruit mature in Coppard's work (6,4) I have ???R?????T. the answer appears to be 'Cherry ripe' but this conflicts with 25D Forster character in stab a storyteller might take (4 ) - tls says 5 - clearly wrong. It's obviously 'Bast' from Leonard Bast in Howards End - help ? any other clues/help on offer ?

The online version of TLS 916 that I have gives 25D Leap around Vladimir's fire (4).
29A is the same as your version.

25D LEAP etc. argues for PALE (as in Nabokov's PALE FIRE).
But the other 25D argues for BAST, which just won't fit.
Another balls up, I'm afraid.
