Breakfast tv - price they charge at the cinema now for popcorn and coke etc, and people taking their own instead. We always have taken our own but the Manager says we shouldnt as he is providing a service for us.
When we went to see a musical in London last week, because it was a surprise and I didnt know we were going, I didnt take anything. I didnt want to start coughing as Id already got a sore throat, so decided to buy some wine gums. Cost me £2.50 !!! I had loads at home. Same brand cost 79p from Tesco. I think its disgusting !!
Do you pay these ridiculour prices or take your own ?
I always buy cinemas popcorn, which is surprising considering how tight I am- but I just adore popcorn, and for the "special occasion" of a night out at t'flicks, I always indulge.
we always take our own sweets and pop. How would they know? They're not about to frisk you and I've never seen anyone have their bags gone through. Its quite easy to hide two packs of sweets and a couple of bottles of pop in an average sized ladies handbag. If the Cinemas were competitive in their prices then more people would buy from them. My son-in-law used to work in a cinema making the pop corn when he was at Uni and said he would never ever eat cinema popcorn as its unhygienic (!?)
I dont really mind buying them there at a slightly increased price but why do they have to charge the price they do just because they have high overheads? They probably buy them in at the same price as a local shop and you are already paying a high price just to get in these days. Just going there is a `treat` in itself.
Best to buy fish and chips, lots of vinegar of course, tie the carrier bag to suppress the aroma, then ten minutes into the main feature, open carefully, and quietly and tuck in aaaaaaaahhhhhhh heaven
Look at this link it is to the USA but exactly the same applies here

I saw another link a while back that said the only product that has a bigger profit margin than cinema popcorn is cocain !
Most cinemas make 40% of the profit on snacks, that is why they do not let you take your own in.
at the pictures, i always put distance between myself and anyone with popcorn / food and drinks / faffing around with a phone / who calls themselves B00
First time we went to a baseball game in the States we couldn't believe the amount of eating going on. Now its here too. Luckily our local theatre has a decent cafe and people don't eat during performances.
I usually buy a hot dog and a cup of Fanta - neither of which I normally have anywhere else. I also buy a small milk and a Toffee Crisp before i go in, and then I sit there with all that fat and sugar inside me and rattle quietly!
