When I go into a Word document the automated assistant is called Clippit - but this is 7 letters, not 6....

I take it I'm barking up the wrong tree??

You have not typed the question so I don't know if this is any help.  The automated assistant in most programs is called a WIZARD.  That is only 6 letters long.  Will that do?
Yes you are Localgirl, think witches.
I think the clue "magical" would indicate Wizard. The obnoxious little thing is "Clippy" which is 6 letters. Think I''ll go with the magical one.

Thanks gen2, marje and sleuth - that was my last question and I'm going on holiday tomorrow!

Good luck all

Agree with all above.

But just so you know, Clippit is the specific name of the paper clip assistant. I personally have the cat which is called Links, I think the dog is called Rover.

In my defence, the article used above is dated 2001 and talks about the removal of Clippy.

Having just checked my copy of office (XP), the clip is definitely called Clippit. Maybe they renamed him/her/it in XP.

The dog I did get wrong, his name is Rocky not Rover.
