Thought of Gitanes and Gauloises but can't relate to numbers 1 & 2 - they're NOT best selling brands in France. I've tried thing like tennis player rankings, department numbers, city STDs etc - no brilliant spark yet

Best selling brand in France is Marlboro and neither Gitanes nor Gauloises are made in France any more - all a bit sad really, nearly as bad as here!
