This is the last hint I need, I swear!
Please any help gratefully received for:

81 Direct horse gets home, by the way. (9,4)

I have the 9 letter word but can't get the 4 letter - I know its a word for route or path but can't make any sense of it!

Please help, I'm dying to get this quiz sent off and have a rest!

Start with a colour that can also be a horse.  Follow that with its home.  The second word is another word for a way (as in street).  The whole answer means 'direct' but I only know that because Chambers tells me so.

Assuming you have got the first word correct, then just look it up in Chambers Dictionary

Don't have a Chambers and Chambers online is not helpful, so I'm presuming the second word beginswith either "r" or "l". I think its "r". Am I right please?
