Celebrity Deal or rubbish?
19 Answers
What did you think of the first of the celebrity deal or no deal programmes? I thought it was lost in an attempt to emulate other celebrity quiz types and Noel was unable to draw out of the contestant - Jimmy Carr, what he normally does very successfully. The usual team of the deal team are so much more interesting than the so called celebs.
Has it not crossed the line into better enterainment or is it too early to say or am I someone who does not like change?

I know he 'played the game' but thought he should have dealt as it was a charity. It didn't work somehow, format wise.

Hi Paul,
I suppose the way I look at it is it was for charity. I quite enjoyed it .. I thought Noel was swallowed up though in the other contestants banter. I don't think Jimmy should have gambled that amount at the end . Would have been better to walk away with the generous amount he had left onthe tble.

I thought the banker laughing as the money was wiped out was somehow inappropriate as it was being done purely for charity. To my mind the show didnt work at all. I think it could have been redeemed if they had something up their sleeve to at least give some extra money to the charity, as they must have realised it could end badly.
hello thankfully i didn't have to suffer the indignation of having to watch it i heard it, the wife had the pleasure of watching it

I thought it was flatter than the normal shows despite the 'Celeb' contestant & wings.
Noel was struggling.
As with a lot of these Celeb for charity shows, the celebs were more interested in messing about & making themselves look good than raising money for the Charity.
One of the wing members 'joked' that they were only here to raise their own profile = "many a true word said in jest" dont they say?

Agree with grasscarp, it would have been a good idea to have a "consolation"
prize, say Easter treats for the kids, it is a game where things go wrong as in Jimmy's case, if he had went away with the penny would he have been enrolled into the 1p club! Maybe it would have been more profitable to win the 1p as he could have auctioned it on Ebay!
