Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Have asked for help before but can't get the whole answer.

I have the 9 letter word, but is the second word "road" or maybe "lane"? I have to get this sent off and this is the last one I need. I'm determined to get a Chambers before the next Rainbow Quiz!!!!

quizzywig, IF you have the correct first word and IF you had a Chambers and IF you looked up the first word, you would learn that the second word is ROAD (or Highway).

trouble is, I'm not sure the modern one would work.
I looked this up in Chambers 21st century dictionary (which is available online) and got knowhere.
However, I managed to find something through google

I tried to use Chambers online too and it didn't help yet everyone seems to recommend using a Chambers.

The fact is that reference books online or on CD are not a match for their paper equivalents. I'm sure that the solution in this case has been in Chambers for years. It is certainly in my old 1993 edition. Go out and buy a proper, full, definitive Chambers that you can browse through at your leisure. It is enormously useful when doing the Rainbow quiz.

I have a Chambers concise but it didn't help me with any of the answers! I think I need to get a better Chambers.

Reference Chambers !! If you look at the introductory page of this Rainbow quiz and all the other previous ones, you will see that their recommended Chambers is CHAMBERS ENGLISH DICTIONARY (1990) "our main, but not sole, source of reference for definition " I have a 1998 one which seems to work indeed it is invaluable but I would be interested to obtain a second hand copy of the actual one listed. One could then be absolutely sure of ones answers ! Anybody know where I might obtain the real thing ?

I wouldn't bother, Magic 1. The latest Chambers (Ninth Edition, 2003) is so huge that it is inconceivable that it would not contain everything in the 1990 edition and much more. It certainly contained everything I needed to look up in the latest Rainbow quiz.
