New tab in Google Chrome
8 Answers
Until recently, when I opened a new tab in Chrome, it immediately showed my Home Page (BBC News). Now, when I click on the New Tab I get either "Most Visited" or "Apps". I know I can immediately click on the 'Open the Home Page' icon but I would like to be able to get it to go straight to my home page as it used to. Is this possible?

Click the spanner, then settings
In the Appearance section, you'll see "New Tab page" and the word " Change".
Click it, put a dot next to "Open this page", and ensure that the URL is the one for BBC News.

Sorry Rojash! I accidentally clicked on Mark as Best Answer when I really meant to send you this reply:
In the Appearance section, the "Show Home button" is checked and underneath this is "www.bbc.co.uk/news" and then the Change option. If I click on this I get the choice to either "Use the Tab Page"

Thanks for your additional comments, Rojash. However, I must be extraordinarily thick because although I've no problem with the BBC home page opening at start up, I just cannot get it to open when I click on the New Tab despite following your instructions. It always goes to the new tab screen with the only options as mentioned in my original post. Thanks anyway for trying to help. And thanks for your patience.
