MM Links Results Jun 2012 Week 2

Well, you paid the price for taking all those points off 'Don Corleone' (aka deecee131) last week. He set out to punish you all but thanfully he underestimated how many of you would be John Wayne fans.
The game has closed and I can reveal that the chosen links that you were chasing were:
GREEN BELT (2 matches)
KINGS SPEECH (2 matches)
TRUE GRIT (8 matches)
MANHOLE (1 match)
So it was a fairly low-scoring weekend, but who were the lucky ones?

Roslyn251254suddenly remembered the film, 'The KING'S SPEECH' for her 2 points.
MANHOLE was next, discovered, unexpectedly, by kawakiri (2 points)
GREEN BELT held up longest, only slipping at 9:23 to jobjockey.
One player though was outstanding as the only double-hitter in the whole game.

Hi Ont-ice
As well as TRUE GRIT surely KINGS SPEECH was also a famous film.
I think we are all beginning to get too serious about the links
Just lately I can't get any correct - so whatever the rules are, my scores seem to be nil.
Well done to the scorers .... as somebody said I must try harder !!!!

Ont Ice,
The expression 'True Grit' dates back to 1846
'True Grit' was used for the title of a 1968 novel by Charles Portis
The John Wayne film (1969) made the expression more popular once again.
Incidentally, 'The King's Speech' is the title of a 2010 film.
'Kings Speech' also appears in my Chambers dictionary dated 1998
I thought the rules had been clarified and I updated the summary that is posted each week after the introduction and before the challenge words are revealed.
<< Each of the selected link words may go in front of, or behind my challenge word
to make a new longer word
or to make a well-known phrase or saying.
The combination will never be a person's name. >>
This week's links were within those parameters.
