Oh dear David Starkey has upset someone for speaking his mind, was this woman right to call him a racist, a bigot and a troll?
Seems not everyone agreed with her.
/// As Miss Penny continued speaking, Claire Fox, director of the Institute of Idea think tank stood up and told the journalist who has written for The Independent and the Guardian, that she was a disgrace to both women and the left. ///

So do you think men in Punjab or whatever, go about in gangs preying on white girls?

I didn't actually say that, so I'll thank you not to distort my words?
To have views entrenched somewhere relatively primitive does not mean that everyone from there has those values, I accept that, but, like it or not, many Muslim men have terribly repressed views towards women, and this gang displayed a flagrant disregard for vulnerable girls, treating them like pieces of meat. Therefore his comments, while not applicable to all, are comments that I can at least say that I see where he's coming from.

Dr Starkey seems a little obsessed. Wonder why he's only vocal on stories relating to blacks and Asians. Almost like he's got an agenda.
Also - for an intelligent man, I find it astonishing that thinks the Pakistani men come from the Punjab region (of India).
Perhaps he thinks 'they all look the same'?

By the we can all upset someone for speaking our minds.
Eammon Holmes did so last week (with his views on bullying).
Starkey is saying that men from the Punjab share specific attitudes to white women. If Trevor Phillips said that the Baby P case illustrates how white Britons treat their kids (and there have been A LOT) of similar infanticide stories in the past 18 months), there would be an uproar.
Think of it - the number of stepfathers and boyfriends who have been convicted of killing children in their charge has become painfully frequent - but no-one says, "that's typical of white men", because anyone with half a brain knows that it's a slippery slope to assess an entire race based on the acts of a few.

I'm guessing by the timing it might be this...take your pick.

I find myself agreeing with Holmes. I don't think just feeling bullied means you are bullied. Otherwise you end up with that silly actress a couple of weeks ago: someone said on Twitter they didn't like her, and the actress angrily claimed this was bullying.
But - back on topic - Starkey is still a racist.

Eammon once claimed that he was a victim of sectarian bullying when he grew up in North Belfast, but he and I grew up in one of the rar,e "mixed", areas in Norn Iron, so I wrote a letter to the Sunday Life claiming that he was talking a load of crap.
He then claimed that he had been misquoted. Seems strange that someone who would erroneously claim that he was bullied would then dismiss bullying so arbitrarily? Perhaps someone nicked that day's pie allowance?

Jno - in that he's wrong to make a blanket statement that all men from the Pubjab are like that - but even the local religious leaders were saying after the sentencing that many men from that culture think that white girls are easy game. Doesn't matter where they originate, the pack culture spots a vulnerable young woman and seduces them into seedy practices.
