Judging by the fact that this is still unanswered, I suspect that I am not alone in wondering what you mean by:
First word begins between DOV and PAN
and
First word begins between BISH and WAKE

Are you referring to the word's position in the dictionary?

Do you really mean HEAVY ablutions? or did you mean HEAVENLY ablutions?
and does '2 words of 11 letters' mean 2 words EACH of 11 letters? or 2 words with a TOTAL of 11 letters?

a) refers to two words totalling 11 letters with the first of the two words beginning somewhere in the D.. to  P.. range in the dictionary.

Yes I do  mean HEAVY ablution. That's what it says on the quiz sheet.

b) refers to 4 words totalling 18 letters in all with the first word starting somewhere in the B..- W.. range in the dictionary.

The answers  are buildings or constructions.

I see - cryptic clues then. . .
Here's my thimking on number 1.
Heavy ablution could be WASHING + TON = Washington.
The only well known house in washington I can think of is the White House, but that is neither 11 letters, nor in the specified dictionary range.

Thanks gen2 for the excellent suggestion of washington.  George Washington's home was Mount Vernon and this will be the answer- a two word 11 letter answer with the first word  Mount lying in the D-P range.

Any other brilliant ideas for b) ??

Sorry, nothing yet comes to mind, and in any case I'm visiting my brother for the next 4 days so it's up to the others on this site to lend a hand now.
