Update on patient transport query
23 Answers
This morning I spoke to PALS who put me on to the patient transport service itself. Given the circumstances, Mr O IS eligible to have transport provided. A massive thank you to SunnyDave for providing the relevant phone numbers, and thanks to all who made such kind comments. Bless you xx

Now that is good news, well done sunnydave for the advice and perhaps this will put to bed what has proven to be a highly contentious subject with the division between the ex-NHSers and the ABers who have issues with transport, especially those exposed to long term cases with their loved one.
Sqad and Ron - I think you should review the threads though as your remarks did add fuel to an emotive issue, perhaps a misjudgement to how emotive it is,. However the very fact that three or four have come forward with such arguments on our community which what 1000 folk - may suggest that there is more of an issue than perhaps the average NHSer or GP realises. The question is how to convey this into the system - and a NHSer I am not. You guys who have worked there/working there may know better.
There is always room for patient service improvement even in these financially strapped days - and far better a good transport system than having the patient occupying a bed. As an outsider, it does read as being somewhat shambolic and patchy as to where you are in the UK - or being sent.

MrsO , so glad that you know have transport in place - often these things are there but we have to search for them. A happy outcome. ♥
