No.3 sounds very similar to the logo for TG = Thomson Distribution Group.

Clue for no 2 - it's something to do with writing. I must admit some of the logos are quite hard. My eyes are going funny after trawling through site after site of logos online. There is a lot of time though so don't give up looking!
