Would some kind person please explain the word play in 4 down. Clue: Polish right for small flower (5). I have: R?I?E. I think it's RHINE but can't see why. Help please.

Another word for 'polish' is 'shine' - this is polish as in furniture polish, nothing to do with the people who live in Poland.
So, take 'shine' and swap Right for Small i.e. replace the 's' with an 'r' and you get RHINE. And RHINE is a 'flower' i.e. something which flows, specifically in this case, a river.
