baths - why ???

I'm away for a day or two - and the cottage doesn't have a shower - only a (smallish) bath - mainly because the ceilings are too low.

I hate bl**dy baths - they are just not 'fit for purpose' - sitting around in a puddle of your own grot just doesn't seem a sensible way to get clean.

Being so big (oooh matron) it boils down to 'washing by instalments' and a most unsatisfying experience.

I can see the point of relaxing in a big tub after I've had a shower to get clean - especially if I can coax someone to join me - but for routine ablutions I can't wait to get home to my walk-in shower.

Same here dave, I much prefer a shower I don't see the point in baths either.
I prefer baths. I do it the other way round. I bathe then rinse down in the shower.
Meh will probably be raining....be a man and wash al fresco!

When we moved in we had two bathrooms, one is now a wetroom the other has a walk in shower, not a bath in site, can't be doing with 'em!
I do like most French people do and shower sitting in the bath!
I cannot stand baths! I never feel clean after them
I never bath, I always shower.
Have walk-in shower and bath. The bath is used twice a year max.
2 or 3 years ago I had the bathroom made into a wet room, and the smallest bedroom into a bathroom with a roll top bath. The bath looks lovely but has never been used.................
Its funny how your eyes play tricks - I read that as 'washing my instalments' and 'being so big' before that, I had this picture of you Dave........ er well we won't go into that now.....hahaha {:o)
Lol @ "being so big"

Dave, you are not big.....just stocky for your height
cant stand baths just sitting in all the muck you have just washed off, give me my shower any day!
Doesn't it rather depend on the situation? If you have a manual or outdoor job that means you are dirty, then yes I understand the preference for a shower. The last time I left a tide mark in the bath, I must have been 8 years old.

However for those who are not too mucky a nice bath, means you can have a read and relax - also with mobility and sight issues, I find a shower a difficult experience.
I don't have a shower at home, and frankly I'm not all that bothered either, despite Mr Boo saying he's going to put one in. I love my baths, I detest showers, hate the feel of water splashing onto my face.
Showers are for getting clean in; baths are for getting dirty in, with some fine wine and good company.
I hate baths. Horrible things. Spiders are known to live in ours because it is never used. Dreadful when you go away somewhere and there is no shower!

As for reading and relaxing in the bath, I am told it is very nice. But I never last for more than five minutes in a bath. I hate it. I would rather relax and read in my warm bed!!
I love being able to wash my hair when I shower. You can't do that in a bath. Funnily enough, I can't bear my face being underwater in a swimming pool, but have no problem in standing under a shower. Showers make me feel clean, baths just don't
I've spent ages choosing a bath for the new bathroom then realised I haven't used this bath since I moved in so it can go and I'm having just a shower. Too much of a fidget to sit still in a bath and I would leave a tide mark after a day in the garden.
I can get dirty in a shower but the watered down wine is a pain.
Gness, how burly is sunny-dave?
Agree kiki.........
