chocolate muffins

Does anyone have a recipe for chocolate muffins that does not use baking powder? I have bicarbonate of soda but no baking powder. Or brownies if there's no way of doing muffins?

I'm with bednobs on this, I use them both for the same things.

Baking powder is just bicarb with cream of tartar - I think.

You can only use baking soda in place of baking powder if you also use buttermilk.
