Can anyone identify this plant? It is about 2and half feet tall, has lance shaped leaves all the way up the stem, similar to penstemon but the leaves are narrower. At this moment it has one flower at the very top of one of the stems which is white, has five petal with a black blotch at the base of each petal and a prominent yellow centre. The flower is similar in size and shape to cosmos but the foliage is totally different. Vera Hemmings

It sounds like a rock rose (Cistus)...lovely flowers...
