Shouldn't she step down and give him a go before he's too old to enjoy it?

I hope not. In my view he is a waste of space and the monarchy (which I support) will probably collages with him at the helm.
I like him.
HM the Queen will never step down. She made a vow to devote her whole life to the country and abdication has never been in her contemplation.
As HM is still emotionally tied up with the Abdication of Edward VIII, and the subsequent issues suffered by her father, then she sees her reign as a total life time obligation, i.e until Her death, then in Her view she'll NEVER abdicate in favour of her son. IMO
A law should be passed requiring the heir to the throne renouncing succession on reaching his or her 65th birthday. Charles is currently 64.
At no time have I ever seen Charles as being good for the Monarchy or the Country.
Why,McM? Since MP's/Churchmen/Company Directors can work after 65, why do want someone who is in full control of their faculties to quit before their time? It's also against the EU WTD, and is ageist.
//someone who is in full control of their faculties //
Are we talking about Charles?
He once go mad at Princess Diana , for sitting on his Aston Martin .

There is someone losing his faculties , if ever i saw an example
Sitting on an Aston Martin is just not done in polite society!
I prefer the Queen.
The Queen could retire, maintain the throne, and make him Prince Regent.....or ditto, Prince William.

My view is that this may become reality once the Greek Sailor pops his clogs......
Age shouldn't be a consideration. She's fit and capable. Why should she retire?
Yes, she's right. He meddles.

Charles seems worried that he'll always be the understudy and never called to play the role that God ordained for him. If she retired she'd be giving him a chance.
He wouldn't be able to speak his mind so much if he became King.
Question Author
would that be a bad thing? ^
I don't know, I'm just saying.
I hope the Queen continues for many a year, although I think she'll take more of a back seat if Phil kicks his clogs. She can just share the workload more with the younger ones.
The Queen will never abdicate, with or without Prince Phillip. I think
Prince Charles has a long wait ahead of him - she looks like she has a good few years in her yet!
