Can anyone give me some pointers please? I've got 4 questions left!

The answers are all famous buildings and constructions, ancient or modern, fact or fiction. The number of words is shown in the clue and no answer contains the definite article.

 

19. The house of heavy ablution. (2) This answer must have 11 characters in it.

21. In clover confused tribe lived here. (2) This answer must have 11 or 12 characters in it. I thought perhaps Vatican City?

23. In which I dream of a White Christmas. (2) This answer must have 12 characters in it.

44. Chesspiece village home beside the Ouse. (2) This answer must have either 16, 17 or 18 characters in it.

Thanks but No 19 can't be Washington as the answer must have 2 words and consist of 11 characters. Any more suggestions.

What about MOUNT VERNON - where President Washington lived?

Suel, when you say "no answer contains the definite article" - do you mean it (that is "the") or did you mean to say "no answer contains the indefinite article" (that is the letter "a"). The latter would make more sense(?).

Please confirm.

Some answers don't need the definite article at all.

e.g Stonehenge (1)
