The thing is that you tend to record someone race by how they define their own race so you might get someone of mixed race who defines them selves as white-british

Of course your average racist might not agree and they might suffer racist abuse - The police will then record a White-Briish on White-British racist offense

A 'racist incident' can be recorded thus even when both the victim and perpetrator are of the same race. This is particularly relevent in Scotland where there is a degree of 'antipathy' between local Scots and the English.

Furthermore this stat is a bit woolly:

First - what is the actual percentage...and out of this percentage, how many were Scottish, and how many English/Irish.

Without those figures, it's very difficult to come to any kind of conclusion.

Scot v Scot too remember, along sectarian lines i believe. A Scottish friend of mine who says that there is often as much dislike even hatred between his countrymen than between the Scots and the English. And it doesn't appear to be simply football related.

It's a tricky one. Some people argue a Scot can't be racist towards an Englishman because they are both white and therefore essentially the same ethnic origin.
