Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers for tonight's meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club. All here at the Towers hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, and are all set for the usual mayhem and madness which marks our weekly meetings.
On the menu tonight, there will be the usual selection of volly vonts and horses doovers, the hot plate special will be a massive Paella, and on the pudding trolley, a Crema Catalana - in keeping with the Spanish theme, tonight's Tailcock will be the "Barca Blaugrana" a bi-coloured drink featuring the colours of our beloved Barcelona FC - an intriguing mix of Blue Curacao and Cherry Brandy plus a "secret mix of ingredients"
For the rofl I offer: a box of Christmas wrapping (used) plus tags
a festive sweater
roll of sticky tape
half a Christmas pud (minus custard)
The Minstrels will be back in the gallery playing (very quietly they are all still in recovery from the Festivities of last week) madrigals and lullabies, hopefully they will be able later to give us their take on the greatest hits of Iron Maiden

Igor and the rest of the staff await your pleasure, a warm welcome to all who dare enter these hallowed halls

It's still a couple of days to go till "maudlin" night Mammar. It's good to make up stories about toys and animals for our little ones, I've only written down a few I still have some in my head, maybe I should put those down too might keep me out of mischief
And that's brilliant that you do that. It's wonderfully rewarding watching/hearing them latch on, their imaginations firing up.......
Time for the sack me thinks, so thanks for your hospitality, nungate, and I hope the Minstrels are back to full form next week......don't let Tony see red or pale blue for the moment, by the way.

Anything to get the little darlings away from computers and games consoles
that's what I say! Let them get bored, it's good for them. Children don't need to fill every hour of the day with lessons for this or lessons for that, they need to be allowed to be children and go out and get muddy and use their imaginations!

Sorry, I shall step off the soap box now!

Good night DT - I shall be looking for the rest of Laura's story tomorrow
Arts and Literature for this one, I think.....

Night all.
Am I the only one left living in fantasy land?
i'm also done in as well, people. thanks for the hospitality, nungate....excellent as always. will see you again, dt for more stimulating chat (and i thought you were ok last night, sweetie x). i am going to leave as quietly as i can and not wake the neighbours with my singing (howling, really) on the way. adieu x

No Daisy, I have a permanent residence there! I like it, everyone knows me
Question Author
Sing on Icg, no one can hear you way out here! Have a good night and hope you will join us again
Thank goodness. We used to have fantasy conversations. Now so mundane. Where has the magic gone?

I think it's the post Christmas fug - all that eating and drinking (one glass of pink champagne) is enough to addle my grey matter.

I think we all got onto the literary theme because of my question about the best Christmas present will try harder though....
Ladies, I can't keep my eyes open. I fear I must depart. Thank you, kind Nungate, for your food and fire. I'm going to request a sleigh tonight as I feel like being spoiled. If I win anything in the roffle, kindly keep it in the fridge and I'll pick it up next week.

Certainly Mammar, your carriage awaits, Belle is waiting in the vestibule with your cloak and your goodie bag!
Question Author
The carriages are at the Towers entrance, any lingering guests are requested to take their places in the carriages, unless they have decided to stay over in one of the guest suites if so they must see Belle in the vestibule who will allot them a suite.

Chubb, will you lock up please when our guests have departed or retired to their suites?

Igor and Dyson, you may begin the clear up when the guests have retired, I shall be in my chambers if required, and I believe the Minstrels will be in the staff dining room enjoying a good supper

Good Night one and all
