HELP!!!!!!! theres a bird in my back garden and it cant fly, my bf says its a baby starling. its been there all day, hopping about and getting picked on by the other birds. it keeps on goin under a bush at the end of the garden, so i put some water and bread under the bush for it. ive thought of phoning the r.s.p.c.a but i remember my mum rang them once for the same thing and they said they couldnt do anything about it. i feel really sorry for it. does anyone know how to help?
If its a baby it probably wont be able to eat the bread, you could try digging up some worms lol, apart from that there isnt much you can do for it, if u brought it into the house or fuss it too much it may become use to humans and it wouldnt survive in the wild
i wanted to bring it into my house but my cat would think xmas had come early. the bird keeps on goin and coming back again, i havnt seen it 4 a few hrs now tho
I hope I'm not to late.. when I was younger we had a bird in our garden and it couldn't fly. The RSPCA told us to feed it soggy rice crispies with the thin end of a spoon.. basically just shove them down its throat like the mother would do. Then we found its nest (in our loft) and put it back.
hi there. i dont think it was too young, i think it had done something to its wing, it tryed hopping about but couldnt seem to take off. i put some water down and bread under the bush where it goes, it took a bath and started nibbling at the bread but now its dissapeared. poor little thing.
This is the definitive site for all birdy baby help gingerflaps. Keep it outside if possible as mum is usually around watching - even if you can't see her.
wow thanx everso much thats really helpful. i do hope the little thing will be ok, i love animals so much!!! i want to work for the r.s.p.c.a but i think its voluntary work, and cannot do so as i have lots of bills. if i won the lottery i would do it
