Used Stamps - Please

I realise this has nothing as such to do with quizzes but I just thought I would make a plea for the donkey sanctuary who sell on used stamps to rais emoney. It seems fewer people do this these ays but they still do. So, if anyone out there is sending for one, or returning one of my quizzes (there are 2 on the go at the moment 'Festive Link' and 'Just a single word') and you can be bothered to collect your used stamps, I am happy to collect them and take them in to the donkeys when I get enough. They need to be torn off with a decent border, but I am happy to trim them neatly. If however you already have an outlet for them, thats great, its just I have come across a few people recently wondering what they should do with theirs. Many thanks and I hope you dont mind me asking.

That is a very good idea quizmouse. I can say the same thing. If anyone is buying my quizzes and they have spare used stamps , then I will take them and hand them in along with my supply of stamps to Brechin Cathedral.

I use to doo this, but the different places stopped taking them.
I must admit I do not get a lot of post now with stamps, but I shall
save what I can and ask around friends.

I dont post mine in, I have a friend who visits every year so she kindly takes them in, so quantity doesnt matter. There is some question of whether it is worth it if they are posted, and with the post costs increasing I wonder too, but she is happy to take a boxful each year and they are so grateful, it seems worthwhile, and a few more donkeys get fed!!

quizmouse I hope I have not tried to tread on your patch, I did not mean to. I just thought that if anyone is doing my quiz then they could possibly send me their used stamps at the same time. But that was before you said that you would take them anyway. I would to, but do not want to pinch your post, so to speak.

Of course, its not a competition, jst a way that everyones used stamps get puit to use, rather than thrown away. It makes perfect sense if they are sending something to you. then send the stamps with it, if they are sneding to me again, send the stamps with it, doesn't matter which way as long as they get reused and some good comes of them. I wasn't at all thinking you were stealing my post, more giving those interetsed the info, they need.

I just felt awful quizmouse . But pleased that you understand, as you so rightly say, why throw stamps away when they can be put to good use. And if you are sending mail anyway, it makes sense to enclose with contents. I never post mine when I have got a goodly amount I just hand deliver them.

This is because they can be worth more as a collectible item still complete on the envelope. Also now wanted any of the Gold Labels now used by the Post Office.
so there are other choices, for everyone to decide where they want to send them.

I have a load of stamps,always been a habit of mine to rip them off envelopes.

When you say used stamps, do you mean all stamps, or just stamps that've gone through the postal system but missed the cancelling machine?

I could collect some for you, but they will have been cancelled. Is that okay?

Any stamps which have been used, franked or not it doesnt matter, they still sell them on for charity. Whatever you send I will semnd them on.
