I quite agree with the setter. Although I have (hopefully) solved all the clues correctly and entered them , I am not also quite there . At the moment I have no idea where to go next so I shall give it up for the afternoon , in the hope hat other solvers might put me on the right path. Best wishes..

Why are you assuming the sequence begins with a 6 letter word?
Because of the next three letters in the top line. From your answer I'm clearly
wrong?
yes.
Thanks for that! Sorry to gatecrashed the EV clique. It won't happen again.
?? - you're always free to get hints etc. here.
Oh dear dr b, Toalisi seems to have taken your hints wrongly, oooops. On the other hand I don't think you have a monopoly on upsetting posters! I think I've managed it more than a few times!!!!!!!!!!! However I still think it's better to give hints rather than direct answers, especially this early in the game!
Dr's b & HH

I think it was the sarcastic single word 'yes' which upset
toalisi. It would have been better to give the letter count
which surely doesn't give too much away.
The weekly thread already has a reputation for elitism & pomposity
and it is no wonder that possible new contributors are put off, &
some existing ones have departed.
Good luck toalisi - there are other more approachable sites that
respect the integrity of the setter but offer support to questioners.
How in the world can someone infer sarcasm from a single word? Toalisi asked a simple direct question and I gave a simple direct answer; I was trying to give a hint and saw no need to embellish it. Apologies to any & all offended.
Oh dear, fancy us being accused of elitism and pomposity, not at all intended toalisi/mampara. You must forgive our scientist friends, you know what they are like..........never use 2 words when one will do. I find them very helpful when (as a strictly non-scientist, still have nightmares about physics lessons) I get so dreadfully stupid and can't work out the preamble. Just join us in N & C'ing and having a bit of a laugh too.
Talking of stupidity, thank you DocHH now have the NE corner and now need a push for the NW corner, my current assumptions are that the one ending at light 9a could pertain to 29a?? and the previous one to the NE corner belong to 25d?? As to the rest.............................................!
Devadolly, the one previous to the NE corner belongs to 30a and yes the one that ends at the light before 9a belongs to 29a. 25d belongs to the one before the one that ends just before 9a, if that makes sense!

I had never heard of the words that occupy the NW and SW corners, but they both appear in Bradfords under their definitions, as does the last of the 11 words.

The weather here is dreadful, am snowed in, all around here is rather slopy, and as it hasn't been gritted, is like a skating rink, so no chance of getting around unless in a 4x4. Even the local bus company have suspended services due to the snow.
Gosh - what I thought was going to be straight forward kept me struggling right up to the end (especially the last word of the eleven). Well done to Warbler for a clever EV.
Without wanting to stir up a hornet's nest about site etiquette, I should just like to thank all the contributors who give hints on the thread without divulging too much. I personally relish the "penny drop" moments and would not like to be spoon-fed.
Oh dear - never though we were pompous. Must agree with Ringer - I would miss the 'penny drop' moments if things were too explicit, and have always found everyone helpful. I feel the hints are usually pitched at just the right level.
