What on earth does this mean? It's a clue in a quiz but as I am not at all computer literate it is just a jumble of letters to me.

RGB 61,89.171 Hex 3D59AB, Microsoft Access 11229501.

Where are the brilliant among you? It's certainly not me!!

cobalt ?

Good gracious bibblebub - can you explain preferably in words of one syllable. I like to learn something each day.
Well you can put the red green blue into the 'personalise' setting of your PC and see what it comes up with.

The hex value is 4020651 as a decimal. Not sure what to make of it.

As for Access, I'm not an expert in databases but if you have MS Office you can play about and see if it means anything.
BTW surely the RGB should either be two commas or two full stops, rather than one of each ?
i simply searched for each of the 3 parts of the clue
... and cobalt was the common factor in the search results

I tried all sorts before I asked and could get nothing. You are indeed brilliant, all of you!! Please accept my thanks and admiration.
you're welcome (or sorry if it turns out to be wrong)

I think it is right bibblebub, because other answers in the same section contain metals like silver, and nickel - these clues were easy - but I just could not understand that one at all.
well, it's different, makes a change from the usual types of clue
i'm surprised googling was necessary for such a simple clue :-)

Cheeky!! Might be simple for you ael, but not for me. And also 'show-off'.
Just to add: The clue is simply three different ways of coding the same colour

The last one is a decimal number which when converted into Hex gives the components in the order BGR.

RGB stands for Red Green Blue
The intensity of each is on a 256 point scale (0 - 255).
So red is turned up to 61, green to 89 and blue to 171.

OMG I am more confused than ever. I am glad I asked for help. There is no way I could have found that.
>>>RGB stands for Red Green Blue
>>>The intensity of each is on a 256 point scale (0 - 255).
>>>So red is turned up to 61, green to 89 and blue to 171.

That is how your digital camera works.

For each "pixel" on your camera it measures the strength of the red, green and blue and displays the colour accordingly.

The "mix" of red, green and blue defines what colour that pixel is.

And it does that for every pixel in a picture, thus making up your colour image.

Simple.
