Sainsburys Nectar Card Policy
8 Answers
My husband & I went to a DIY store this morning for some small purchases. When our Nectar card was swiped at the till, the assistant noted that we had a substantial number of accumulated points & asked it we would like to spend some of them on our purchase. We did, so got our shopping free.
We then decided to go on to a nearby Sainsburys to do a large food shop with some of the remaining points. The points on our card were blocked because, we were told, we had not had the card swiped in the previous 24 hours at that store. We could have our card swiped today and return to the store tomorrow to spend some of our points. As we live in a village several miles from the store, we decided not to bother. We returned home and went to our local Tesco instead.
My husband rang the Nectar Card helpline to clarify this very odd Sainsburys policy. Apparently it has nothing to do with Nectar Card but is something dreamed up by Sainsburys. What a very odd way to attract customers!
