Time for Nungate Towers to open the doors and welcome all Mad Over Fifties.
for another evening of fun and frolics.
The Tailcock of the evening will be "Confused" neither I nor the mixologist who created it is certain as to the nature of this particular beast. However, to tempt you with the hot plate special tonight, Queenie has been busy with Scoff (our resident chef) and between them they have created the most delicious Meatloaf, (with all the necessary accompaniments, creamy mash, lots of veggies and lashings of home made gravy) For your futher delectation on the pudding trolley this evening we have Jam Roly Poly with custard, Of course there will also be the usual nibbles, volly vonts and canopies.
In a departure from their usual selection of madrigals and fugues the Minstrels are changing things a little this evening. Tonight they have decided to play a selection of waltzes, polkas and marches (I think they have been tuning in to Sky Arts Rieu.......) and, as always they will be giving us their own take on the Greatest hits of Girls Aloud.....................
As the rally driving went down well last meeting, Queenie has asked if we can have another evening of races - no imbibing of tailcocks prior to driving in the rally cars - the Gnome from Elf and Safety has been taking us to task after last weeks incident with a pink sparkly thingy.........
So, the hot tub is bubbling away in the north tower and the mini bar has (again) been replenished.........the moat has finally been repaired and refilled, the elastics in the bungees have also been renovated. Time to join in the fun and frolics at the Towers.
A rofl will be held later in the evening, guests are requested to have their tickets ready in good time (see Belle in the vestibule). We are also hoping to finally unveil the plaque at the entrance to Mammars chocolate cupboard.
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals...
Excel, you should know that the entire Towers, save the East wing is at the complete disposal of the Mad Over Fifties. Please feel free to repair to the North Tower and the Hot Tub.....
Thanks .hic..Queenie....come on Exc....I've got the key.....we can get the good stuff....Krug...laphroaig...glenmorangie....quick..hic..before they see ....
True enough Tony, we don't have a decent back 4, Puyol is injured, Mascherano will be out for weeks, Messi is injured, Xavi is being saved for the PSG game (I think) Shoulkd be interesting on Wednesday back at the Camp Nou
Lots of Jean Plaidy, Also have most if not all of Mary Stewart. Have run out of bookcases (double banked shelves wherever possible). More in boxes. When I moved to this flat from a much larger place had to take 13 tomato boxes of books to charity shops. Broke my heart.
13 boxes Daisy, heartbreaking right enough. That's why I love my kindles I have two Queenie gave me one Christmas before last and Best beloved a kindle fire for last Christmas) I can load them up with books and they don't take up any house space. I did get rid of a few when we moved 3 years ago but nowhere as many as you did. Never read Mary Stewart, something I should look into....
