St. Mary's Church Quiz And Have Asked This One But Not An Answer.

I have asked this before but have not had an answer. There was a mistake in it, which was put right, but I have still pondered every day and not come up with anything at all. If no answer I will have to send it as is.

If 1 = 48, 3 = 13 and 5 = 41, what does 6 equal.

I have tried all sorts and am now desperate!!

He's simply done 5+1 = 6 so that 48 + 41 = 89. Somehow I think that's wrong, since 3+3 "= 13 + 13 = 26" = 6, but can't for the life of me see what the "right answer" is going to be.

I thought you were asking for the answer. The setter doesn't want us to give answers, only clues to the answer. Also I think you have put the wrong numbers down - mine says :
If 1 =48, 3 = 13 and 5 =31 what does 6 equal.

Sorry, helly you are right I have put the wrong numbers down. I must have been having a senior moment there. Yours are the right numbers. Yes, I wanted another clue but as it is I have been looking at it every day for the past month or so and still have not come up with anything. Still, there it is, if nothing else occurs I shall just have to give up. I don't think I have the right answers for the pictures anyway, and I am not really interested in any prizes, just the pleasure of getting them right. In fact, as far as I am concerned any prize money could go back into the pot to help the church in whatever they are trying to do.
