Save The Children ?
I have entered this under 'People and Places' (the first and sole entry) , as there has been no response I am trying again in here;
'I have just stumbled on this article; http:// www.spe ctator. co.uk/l ife/wil d-life/ 8784751 /wild-l ife-46/
Each year with such hullabaloo we have red-nose day/ save the children etc. We see so many "celebrities", "generously giving their time" (but little else?) though the reality seems to be left in the end to private individual kindness and love for humanity, I know that the money raised does achieve some good, in spite of hearing of "schools" stuffed with computers without having electricity to operate them, or even teachers. It seems though, as always, those at the real bottom get little help. Is this so?

In an ideal world no- one should have to suffer such circumstances, but we do not live in an ideal world unfortunately. I marvel each year at how much red nose day manages to raise - the publics generosity always suprises me - but all I can think is how much worse for how many more children might it be without the aid of events like red nose day, or organisations like save the children etc...

Yes, it is truly sad and heart breaking that children have to suffer such conditions.
Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world so these things do happen. But no matter how much help in the way of money is given, it is never enough. At the end of the day it is all down to the governments. They deprive the people of their dignity and self respect. Sometimes the parents feel that their children would be better off dead that enduring life. True there are those who feel no love for their children but that happens even in a society that is relatively well off.
The Bible foretells that this would happen and we see it every day all over the world.
Even in western so called civilised societies, children are abused, abandoned, even killed.
So where do we start and where does it end?
