If a person dies whilst on the way home from France, using Eurostar, and the death occurs whilst under the English Channel, were would the death certificate state as place of death?
We were having a discussion and my husband came up with this hypothetical question, and there was a difference of opinion as to the answer

Depends where the accident is relative to crossing the median point......
Underneath the sea whilst traveling
I assume the same issue applies when people die at sea or on an aircraft
it would be at the place where the person was pronounced dead by an attending doctor.
Interesting question.

What about a baby born in an aeroplane? What would be the birth country?
Society - I don`t know about other parts of the world but babies that were born on aircraft took the nationality of the registration of the aircraft so a baby born on a UK registered aircraft had UK nationality. That was changed a while ago and now the baby takes the nationality if it`s mother. Funnily enough, since the law was changed, there are a lot less babies born on UK registered aircraft..
Not quite. You only take your nationality from the place you are born if you are born in the United States. An American ship or plane is part of the United States. Everybody else follows different rules about who is a a citizen or a national of their country. The usual rule is that a child takes the domicil of its father; that's international law. Domicil equates to what we call 'nationality'
