Mm Links May 2013 Week 4
OK, 5 mins later than usual, this is gen2 posting the game on behalf of BigMac.
This is BigMac returning with the fourth and final instalment of the May MM Links game, again concentrating on sports. There will definitely be clues to the link words in the paragraphs that follow.
A great day at Lord’s last Saturday, only spoiled by the late fall of wickets. Shame I couldn’t be there on Sunday for an even more astonishing collapse in the face of even better hostile fast bowling. Great anticipation for the second match in Leeds – who knows what the score will be when you read this? – wondering if the tyro Tyke will continue to score so well off his legs?
Great anticipation, too, for the Lions tour to Australia. The first match only a week away and then all the excitement building up towards the end of June. Can’t wait – not least to see if the Wallabies have a front row.
With Andy Murray missing the French Open to rest his back, will this help in his preparations for Wimbledon? Better informed commentators than me suggest missing Paris may actually improve his chances. At least this year, as well as having won a Slam, he also has experience of winning on Centre Court.
And finally, despite the Kiwis still being here, Lord’s is calling again as I’ve been extremely fortunate in getting a ticket for the first day of the second Test. The last time I saw the Aussies at Lord’s, I saw what must have been the only badly rain-affected day of the drawn second Test – in 1981, the series known now as ‘Botham’s Ashes’. Wish me better weather this year, please!
