If memory serves...

The opening titles started with the song "Meet the gang 'cos the boys are here..." etc. and after the song ended with " B - O - B - O - Y - S, boys to entertain yoooooo" it would lead into a sitar version of one of various contemporary songs but never "Land of Hope and Glory" which was exclusively used for the end titles.

Don't know if there was a sitcom called Hope And Glory - there was certainly a drama series of that title which starred Lenny Henry, but it had a specially-written theme tune anyway.
