Mm Links July 2013 Week 2
Since Ulysses100 is not available, I, gen2, am posting the following on his behalf.

Good Morning and Welcome to Week 2 of the MM links as set by my good self, King Ulysses III. I do hope that you are all ready for this weekend’s challenge. I wonder if entrants will repeat the same level of success as demonstrated last week? We shall see!
Stepping back into the past for the moment: I passed my required O-levels and A-levels and was the first in my family to go up to university. I went to London to study Dentistry, which took about four and a half years to graduate suitably qualified. It was hard work, but I managed to play hard too -- especially getting used to developing the study pattern of drinking a few pints and then burning the midnight oil.
It proved to be also an education in meeting people from other walks of life and being introduced to different experiences. My parents would never listen to classical music or spend a night at the theatre. It fell to my room-mate to introduce me to King Crimson and Wishbone Ash, as well as Beethoven and Vivaldi. I also had some of my first theatrical outings (albeit up in the Gods) which I have continued to this very day. To date, I normally see about a hundred productions per year.
Whilst I was in London, I also learned to play Squash, a sport that I continued into my 40’s (until a knee cartilage gave way). As a boy, I hated sports and still have no fondness for it today -- other than to follow the occasional Tennis (strictly as a spectator).
Once I qualified, I opted to work in hospitals for a couple of years gaining experience in maxillofacial surgery, as well as the usual removal of wisdom teeth, etc. I eventually moved to East Anglia and began working in Ipswich. One memorable event was when I was enlisted to be on call when they won the FA Cup in 1978. However, it turned out to be a fantastic night of celebrations and I had no injuries to attend to.
Although I confess that I am generally averse to taking part in physical sport, there have been many times in my life when I associate certain sports through my father or through my professional work.
