We used to have a very handy set of step ladders which could easily be converted into a ladder which would reach the loft. Basically, there were steps on both sides of the 'A' which made the step ladder, and a hinge which allowed them to be made into one straight ladder - obviously with a catch to stop it collapsing when you were climbing.
Unforunately, over time, that ladder outlived its usefulness and needed replacing. Does anybody have any idea where we can buy a replacement?
Goodness, that was quick, Builder. Unfortunately, though, these aren't quite what I wanted - they're rather more complicated than the the I'm looking for. Basically, I want something which can just be opened up, simply, as steps, but which then will become a straight ladder when needed.
Simple "combination ladder" Tefler. Frank's got the one.
Be careful though. You can pay £200 or more for a really sturdy one. As long as you don't intend to use it all the time, the cheaper ones are fine, just a bit flimsy :o)
