the great big british quiz on sky tv
has anybody else seen this programme, and thinks its a scam!
watched it for three hours and was sure I had worked out the answer but after at least 3 hours it seemed no on else had the right answer
calls to the programme cost 1 pound a go so they must be raking it in
would love to know if anyone else saw it and has the answer to the question ( it was the train ticket question)
thanks

Looks definitely like a scam to me!
i've watched this before (not for 3 hours!) and was very confused.
the question was how much money is on screen with a picture of a few 10 notes and a load of coins.
i fail to understand how it works as i counted and recounted and recounted and got the same answer every time, but whenever anyone phoned in with my answer they were told it was wrong.
i really don't get it - unless it's some bizarre trick question!
I agree with what others think is a Scam big time, I too watched it once for a long time and no one got the answer correctly and at the end the presenter told you the answer, but did not say how it was worked out. Think question was a phrase and how lines were in the Phrase. But have you seen any of the other ones ? There are at least about 10 on Sky channels and they are all the same. Some of them you ring in leave your answer and they 'suspose' to call you back but they never do. One was a extract from a picture showing just the eyes and nose was so obvious was Billy Connolly but people who rang in were giving answers ranging from Sean Connery to Eddie Izzard! How many people were watching that screaming its Billy Connolly and could not get through with the right answer. Ive given up watching them all now.
As these shows seem to be a rip off (just an easy way to make money) I wonder if anyone has complained to the watchdog organisation (name I forget) to investigate these shows.
A couple of weeks ago, I too thought this was a scam with random answers to prolong the duration of the question.
However, after many hours of watching this channel, I have cracked half of their questions, confirmed when same type questions have re-appeared. Presently, it's the die and dots that I am now working on.
My own opinion has now changed. I think there is a logical answer to these quizzes. However, the cost of entry is a scam. Nuff said.
On average I spend 20 on a puzzle that I know I have got the right answer to, so I think it's worth it. A good return, but I don't phone if i'm not 100% sure.
