I know a setter on here collects stamps for the donkey sanctuary at Sidmouth, and would like to say that to-day I passed fields and fields of lovely donkeys out in the sunshine, all as happy as they could possibly be. It was a wonderful sight, all thanks to so many 'silent' contributors. so from me a great big thank-you to everyone who helps the lovely donkeys. Julie
Are there more than one setters who collect? I still collect for donkeys in sidmouth and am always grateful to anyone who sends stamps in with their quizsheets. Its nice to know the donkeys are being helped by someone else's waste product.
Thanks to all those who support them.
I have mentioned previously that I also collect for the local Hearing dogs. I have seen one in action and it is amazing to see the help they give to their owners. I myself am a hearing aid user and hope that my hearing will never deteriorate enough to warrant a dog but they do give independence to those that do require the help given by them.
I give all our used stamps to Age Concern - helpful, because we can take them to the local charity shop.
I was very sad to hear about the abuse of the seaside donkeys over the weekend - how mindless, how cruel - if they give up the trade, I hope these donkeys find a place in a sanctuary. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-23632697
