I think you are reading the full stop after the clue as being part of the letter pattern, svejk- it is a little confusing

Yes I'm sorry about the confusion - I couldn't see how to edit it when it was posted. My partner said "dish" but why? And why "existent" please?
I can see EXTENT (degree) with IS (one's) but I'm not sure where the definition is
I see the definition now- obtaining = existent.
meaning 2 below.
