there are several brands, i have a 'Concise Oxford Thesaurus' made by Seiko
In fact if you put 'crossword solver' into the search box on ebay you get a plethora of similar gadgets.
I chose the Seiko one because my sister uses it and when you are used to the way it works it is very good although the information on it is US biased.

thanks very much. do you know if there a site on line that does the same thing ( work out words with letters missing)
i use one called 'the crossword solver'
On-line you can use the Chambers Word Wizard.
