I received my marked quiz sheet back today. I scored 93 out of the possible 100. I was so certain that I had done better than that so was very disappointed.

20 Place of worship for longest golf club (10) .

I put CHURCHWOOD for that but the correct answer was WOODCHURCH. Both are places in GB. I almost cried!!!!

Will I bother with this quiz for yet another year? Of course I will because I'm a glutton for punishment!

I know how you feel DSJ. That has happened to me before. Gutting.

2 is SHANKEND and 56 is CROSSKEYS.

churchwood is correct if you follow the order of the clue
The way the clue has been worded would suggest to me that your answer is the correct one. Perhaps they hadn't realised there is a Churchwood but that's no consolation to you of course.Better luck next year!
Thank you DSJ.Wonder if anyone got them all correct. You did well- I think Woodchurch is the better answer.
One of the quizzes I used to do had a rider at the bottom....

'Setters answers only accepted' (even if they are wrong) sort of makes you want to put your pen down. As you say we continue to do it though.
I agree with the setter. A 'wood-church' is a place of worship for use by a golf club, while a 'church-wood' would be a golf club for use in a place of worship. The normal sequence for a compound noun is qualifier first, then the object which has that quality.
