Who’S Heard Of Breatharianism?
32 Answers
It's a new one on me, but followers of Breatharianism believe food is unnecessary and sunlight can provide all the nourishment the body needs. Michelle Pfeiffer says she was 'saved' from this cult when she was introduced to her first husband, who had been cast in a film about the Moonies, the name given to followers of Rev Moon Sun-myung’s Unification Church. She said that while she was helping him with research “on this cult” she realised she was in one.

I suspect, like most cult leaders, Wiley Brooks is a very rich man.

I'd heard of the concept, but the link mentions Breatharianism, which I've not heard of until now.

Hearing of this cult , and of saintly people who performed or witnessed miracles, reminds me of Gibbon (Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire). He had a delightfully dry sense of humour. He noted that early Christians fervently ascribed miracles. or the witnessing of miracles, to people who had, strangely, failed to mention these remarkable events in their own writings.
