finally have a full grid with 4 blank cells, and the letters giving 'unexpected item' etc, any pointers as what to do now please.

The 10 letters which must be inserted into the Group II answers to make longer words (and fill those blanks) spell an instruction as to what to do with the unexpected item, leaving in its place what it was sitting on !
