Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers.
Time for all members of the Mad Over Fifties Club to congregate and make merry!
Our tailcock for tonight is Mojito Madness! For our Hot Plate Special a delicious Steak Pie with lashings of gravy and creamy mash with carrots and peas - mmm.... and on the pudding trolley there is an apple and blackberry crumble and custard (cream is available) of course there are our customary volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers!
Playing in the gallery are the Minstrels with the usual madrigals and fugues.
Down in the ballroom The Tone Deafs with a delightful selection of '60's covers!
There are roaring fires in the library, and also in the snug where any member wishing a bit of quiet can make themselves comfortable and where a nice tray of refreshments awaits. Our huge library is open all members, and as well as the vast array of books we have a nice selection of all magazines and periodicals, I do believe the latest issue of
The Wheeltappers Gazette has just arrived! Up in the North Tower the
hot tub is bubbling away, the mini bar has been well stocked. The bungee is primed and ready for use, the indoor pool is also ready (cossies are ready for those who forgot to bring one)
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

I was hoping to hold it the Saturday before Christmas as we should still be bedecking the Towers on the 14th ....

Goody. Would hate to miss it. Back to Bournemouth for 14th. Daughter, Granddaughter and Grandson all dancing. Tomorrow GS taking part in Street Dancing Competition in Portsmouth. My family wear me out.
Evening lj, just back from Denmark ?.
Hey, that sounds good, Daisy.
Hi lj. Never been there. Wondering where to go next.
Question Author
Hello there Lady J how was Denmark?

There have been two new brands of gin from north of the border in recent times. You can now buy Edinburgh gin as well as the North Berwick. (NB is much newer) What's more the Edinburgh gin also comes in different flavours, I have a bottle of the raspberry gin in the fridge already chilled (I often forget to make ice) and the also have an elderflower one which is very nice too. (I didn't buy that one at the time)
Should be Tony. First Christmas show. Never tell me exactly what they will be doing so I have a lovely surprise. Pity I won't be able to go to the Brum Christmas Fair. Did check the trains before I found out when it was.

Makes me kinda glad that Queenie is too grown up for all the gadding about we used to do Daisy, though she still uses her Dad as her own private taxi.
She's only recently had her provisional licence renewed because of her eye treatments so she hasn't quite got around to organising her driving lessons again - then he's off the hook - at least until we have grandchildren then we'll be gadding about like yourself! I think I'm looking forward to being grandma - I hope Queenie gets herself sorted out before I get to be too old to enjoy having grandchildren!
My life would be pretty empty without all the gadding about. Keeps me feeling young!
First Christmas show, great stuff, Daisy. Shame about the trains.

nungate, I love being a grandad, great to have a two year old around again.
Question Author
I used to love a bit of gadding but these days it exhausts me! Went out for a bit this afternoon. Visited 2 shops in "gin town" and a garden centre on the way back home - had planned to nip to Sainsbury with best beloved when he dropped Queenie off at her friends, in the end I couldn't go as I felt shattered! (and I hurt myself again yesterday - muscle pull)
Question Author
Tony I just need somebody daft enough to take her on.....then I might have a wee toddler to play with! Have recently been longing for a wee one to read stories to! (the cats never sit still long enough for Each |Peach Pear Plum!)
Did you know that a gad is a sort of mining chisel and that to gad is to break up or loosen? No, nor me. Just like words....
How did you manage to pull a muscle, nungate ?.
Yeah, not very patient are they, cats.
Nun, D met SiL when she was 17. Married at 26.
Question Author
I forgot Max (the cat) was "free range" and when I was helping my mum out to the car yesterday he came dashing out I had one hand holding onto mum and with the other I grabbed Max who dived away to my left, as I reached for him I sort of did a splits across the doorstep caught him but pulled something I was in agony with it most of yesterday from the big muscle we "sit" on right down to the back of my knee - same place I pulled it last year!
Ohhhh, that does sound painful, nungate. Got any liniment to rub on it ?.
i'd love to do a bit of gadding. went food shopping yesterday and it was first time i had spoken to anyone (OH not excepted) for nearly two weeks. Not looking for sympathy too busy for that. have just thought of it. do you speak at the checkout?
Question Author
I had hopes with her sailor but it seemed proximity did not help the relationship, nor it would seem the distance when he was away at sea! I was friends with her Dad for about 10 years before I found out he was Mr Right - a clear case of not seeing the wood for the trees! She is 25 now
you'd think there might be a prospect on the horizon
