Went on a bus which runs a circular route between 2 small towns and goes through my village.

Did the shopping, back to same bus stop where I had alighted, and went on an interesting route home.

The changes in one of the small towns is quite different, a lot of money is being invested, which can only be a good thing.

It's quite an eye-opener when you haven't been somewhere for years isn't it?

I loved going back to my little Irish town til the year I went, after a few years of not going.... and lots of strangers had moved in....Fights in the pubs and streets and the crime rate...which was about nil...went up.

The Celtic Tiger died and they left.....such a difference when I went back...x
This reminded me of when I went back to my home town 8 years ago after 40 years .did not recognise it and actually had a duel carriage way leading to it .the thing that did surprise me was when I walked past the school the old part was still the same and even had the same large door knocker on the large wooden door .
that's why I wont go back to Dubai, I want to remember it as it was when I left 20 years a go and its not like that anymore, if I go it will spoil my illusion.
Two yrs ago we went back to the london Street where i was born, and it spoilt my memories of where I used to live and where I feel off a wall in the front garden and nursed a very sore head and a few days in bed.
Wall gone and it had all changed. Sad really. My memories linger.
