Here's a useful little quiz to test your knowledge of british monarchs and politicians.

We scored 20 of 29. How many do you score.

I got 7, 9, 19 and 21 wrong. Must have been some more but. i can see them. Maybe I scored 25 not 20!
The longest serving PM fazed me.. ..was she in charge for that long :)
19 out of 29

Wrong on 3, 4, 6, 9, 17, 19, 20, 26, 27, and 29.
.

Archbishops q was good - they had gone to the trouble of getting Simon of Sudbury's head right. He was done in by the mob 1381 - the guards let the revolters into the Lambeth Palace I think.
His head went back to Sudbury church and they did a reconstruction of the fellow based on that.

Laud was suspected of being an Arrminian heretic ( anyone can be saved basically ) so as he was a bishop, he was a 'heresiarch'. and you dont meet many of them in a year !
I dont feel too bad i got 20 out 29, but fun though :-)
28 right - always did get the New Model Army thing muddled!!
Got 'em all. There were a couple of not quite trick questions but certainly trap questions. Lots of people think Oliver Cromwell commanded the New Model Army and that Emmeline Pankhurst was killed in the 1913 Derby. On that subject, there was a programme about that last year where it was shown that Emily Davidson wasn't trying to kill herself at all but rather to put a piece of cloth on the King's horse.
that's right, she had her return train ticket in her purse, didn't she?
I got 23 out of 29, but I dispute the assertion that Jane Grey was ever a monarch except in the public's imagination.
17 - Oops! Never was a strong subject for me
I just got 23.Found out a couple of things for future reference for quizzes etc.
depends how you define a monarch, I suppose, Mosaic. Some say there was a King Louis. There was definitely a King Philip. How about Queen Maud?
Depends on who you mean precisely Jno!
I missed Pilgrimage of Grace, Thomas Fairfax, Walpole and date of Mary's execution. Considering we didn't do much English history in school I'm not too downhearted :-)
Emily Wilding Davidson is a bit of a quiz buff's question ...
22
28. Got the Fairfax one wrong.
