Thank you all very much. I think the C and N for corn-on-the-cob are the 3rd and 14th letters of the alphabet - not the 4th as printed on the quiz sheet. I doubt if I would have got it regardless. As for the proverb, it has really got me stumped - I Love Mistakes and Mysteries is my best shot!!!!!!!
