I enjoyed this puzzle.

I thought the top half of the grid was easier to fill. Some of the clues with two or three misprints had me flummoxed right to the very end. The method of resolution of clashes wasn't new but, nevertheless, enjoyable when the penny dropped.

Looking forward to the Eurovision sarcasm dished out by Norton.

Really enjoyed this one, very neat construction and despite disliking 'word searches I guessed the thematic character very early on so spotting it was a piece of cake. A welcome easy one but no less fun for that. Thanks Aedites.

I'm struggling with 3D. Got the rest of the grid, the clusters and the character. But the 4th letter doesn't seem to fit... Help gratefully received!

Crossing over to the TV (how carefully I choose my words in the light of the result), did others see 13ac in the Jumbo: Competition traumatising innocent virtuosos' egos? (10,4,7). Perhaps other ABers could find a clue for MSD (5,7,6)?

3D was the last clue we solved. We had a plausible alternative (but for which the wordplay made no sense), but by counting the clashes, we were eventually forced to the correct solution.

A neat treat from Aedites, featuring one of my favourite shrubs. As for Eurovision--not my cup of tea, alas, but I did tune in to see the final countdown and enjoyed the consummate acting skills of the eventual winner--all tearful emotion during the voting and then a steely performance at the end.

IainGrace -- I didn't make the erroneous assumption about the misprint but thanks for the prompt. I struggled with 17d. It was the last clue I solved. I understood the correct misprint, but I arrived at an unsatisfactory correct answer by a complete misparsing and stretching of most dictionaries' definitions. Looking at it again, I see the much simpler wordplay.
