Thursday, voting day and as you might expect. it's tipping down!

Late yesterday afternoon there were 24 jackdaws in the back garden having some kind of meeting. It was not a court as there wasn't one in the middle. They were there for over half an hour, then took off almost in formation. Fascinating to watch them.

Tiggy and Foxy were both in last night while it was still dry. a cat was daft enough to pick on Foxy. Big mistake! I don't think that there moggie will be back.
Foxy was fine.

Haven't been walkies yet as it's too soggy...or is that me?

I have 2 x1 tonne bags for the front drive so the hiab (sp?) Can leave them there but there will be a palette of 12 bags , those will need to be taken round the back....regardless of weather ! :-(

Morning one and all,weather as usual here. Thanks for the wildlife update Boatie,I really enjoy them. GY doing well,his wound is healed and he can go for a swim now. It's getting a bit too warm on the sand but the sea is beautifully clear. Going to feed the birds in a moment,have to pop out for more snacks for them later.

We had two of those bags here, I had to do it all by hand. The purple shale at the front was easy, the driver held the bag on the jib of his lorry and slashed the bottom of the bag, I just had to spread it round. The honey coloured pea gravel for the back had to be taken round the back in buckets on a trolley. I earned a bottle of wine that day!

I'm glad GY Mk2 is doing well. The pool is the best place to be in that climate, preferably with a barbie close by. I remember it well.

Boaty when we first bought this house and had to clear the excuse of a garden before I could create one, I was transporting huge amounts of sand, concrete, slabs, wood, top soil, bark, gravel, plants got through loads of wheels on my wheelbarrow , so a few bags is nowt to me ! I am considered trade by B&Q such is the amount of builders materials I've bought !!

Will make the cherry and pineapple cake today if /when I can't get on out there !

I'm sure you will enjoy the cake. The one I made for the birthday girl is twice the size, so a bit of guess work was involved. I made the cakes, but Vera used to do the decorating.This is the first one I've decorated as well.
