Is There A Name For This Type Of Staircase/balustrade
4 Answers
I have a stair case that needs renovating. The spindles have been cut off at the tread level & replaced with 1970's style planks going horizontal & on the slant down the stairs (if that makes sense). The original staircase had no base rail but the spindles went directly into each stair tread & also directly into the floor around the landing section. Is there a name for this type of set up. I am hoping to recreate what was originally there but need to know if there is a name for this particular type of staircase?

Have a look through their site and then give them a call they should be able to recommend the parts you need... He also said you may need different sized Spindles (900m and 1000m) these come in different thickness. Hope that helps a little
