what does the price say in Glass's Guide?

I dont necessarily think its the price its the condition and mileage im worried about
If it has been properly serviced 160,000 miles is not in itself a problem with a quality car. You should check the service history with care. If you are not sure, a check by the AA can be worth the cost involved.
Actually looks quite nice, but be aware the road tax may be very high. When I collected my new car a couple of months ago there was a Merc for sale - similar sort of size although I don't know what the model was - with road tax at about £480. This could be similar.
Not without getting the seller to get an MOT, seeing service history and possibly getting a mechanic to have a look. The MOT alone could throw up £1000s worth of work, you just don't know.

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I think what we are saying is, unless you have a fat wallet OR are very handy with the spanners, (in which case you wouldn't need to pose the question) perhaps it would be wise to leave it alone. It's the kind of motor that attracts those with a low budgets and a big egos and likely to have not been properly maintained to BMW specifications. It could lead you into big bills and sleepless nights.
Having said that, if it has been properly maintained by a BMW agent with evidence of a full service history, and you can afford the tax and insurance, it looks like a bargain.

^^^^^^^

I don't own a Saab.
Oh yeah, and I still wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
The car with no MOT is basically worthless. You've got to ask the question of why the current owner has not or will not get an MOT.
Without MOT, £500, If you going to buy, check the roof Mech, they tend to give trouble, check the roof cloth for tears, they area on a chain so that will not give you trouble, the seat cracks are not bother, you can sort that out with products off ebay ( I have done mine) the mileage is no worry, they can stand it, if an auto, take it for a run & check every gear including Reverse, check ALL the electrics, Again if you intend to bye, give the car a good going over by a person that knows the Mech of a car, the tax is £200+ per Gallon depends on your right foot, my gives 30 but I do not tear @rse, you will get a lot trying you on Traffic lights ( Let them) the price would be near enough with an MOT but I would batter, if the dealer has MOT services, get them to MOT the car, but whatever you do, drive the car to test it out.
